I love this tree/shrub. It was planted at the SW corner of my residence & is growing well. Easy to maintain. One thing I will mention though is at least for me in SE Wisconsin this is not deer resistant. It took about a week after the landscaping job for the deer to discover it. It was devoured within a fortnight. It took me awhile to notice but once I did my landscaper arranged for fencing to be erected around it & now it is thriving. Not sure what I'm going to do about the deer in the long run, as I probably should have had it removed for an actual deer resistant plant. It's a beautiful shrub & I think you will enjoy it, just beware - if you don't take precautions you will wake up one morning with it having been chewed to the ground! Gook luck.

Wonderful texture and a narrow form combine in a tough, adaptable plant.
A great landscape plant, Fine Line buckthorn combines the feathery foliage of 'Asplenifolia' with the narrow upright habit of 'Columnaris.' Use Fine Line in narrow hedgerows for privacy, as an accent plant, or even in a patio container. It's a great vertical accent for the perennial garden, and the narrow habit is perfect for framing entrances. This is an extremely useful, architectural plant for the home or commercial landscape. This cultivar produces very few fruit, and among those, only 2% are viable. Fine Line Rhamnus is an environmentally friendly replacement for weedy, older varieties.

Good in perennial and shrub borders. Can be used to frame doors and pathways.
Maintenance Notes:Very adaptable, prefers well-drained soil. No pruning is usually required, but may be pruned in late fall to remove dead or broken branches. Though it tolerates dry conditions once established, it looks and performs best with average moisture. If desired, fertilize in early spring with a granular rose or garden fertilizer.
Fine stems with textured foliage make a nice filler for bouquets and arrangements.
