    Uses Notes:

Great in landscapes where it works best at the front of garden beds.  It is also an excellent container plant where it functions as both a filler and a spiller.

    Maintenance Notes:

These are heat tolerant plants, that aren't particularly fussy and need little routine maintenance. They will perform best if an application of controlled release fertilizer is included at the time of planting. This applies to both landscape and container plantings. Supertunias are heavy feeders, but a single dose is usually sufficient for landscape beds in most climates. If you have a very long season, a second application of controlled release plant food should be considered for landscape plantings. In general, containers need to be fed more than landscape plants. Supertunias in containers will need to be fed more regularly to be their absolute best. A second application of a controlled release fertilizer can be applied about every two months to container plants, which will help. However, for the very best performance I find regularly applying water soluble fertilizer starting about two months after the containers are planted gives the best results.  These extra applications of plant food really makes a difference in performance through the summer.

If your plant begins to look open or a bit tired, an allover trim can be beneficial.  Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back up to 1/3 of the volume of the plant. I pair any trim with a dose of water soluble fertilizer to provide instant energy to help kickstart new growth, branching and flowering. Your plant will take a week to recover from the trim, but the end result is a fuller plant with more blooms going forward. You may repeat the trim as needed through the season.

Supertunia petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers.  They are also excellent landscape plants, best suited to be placed near the front of beds.  They have medium to large sized flowers.

    • I adore this plant. The only one besides supertunia Bubble Gum that wasn't cremated with the month long 100 degree + heat dome. Here it is mid Nov. and still with color . Just hope it available for Spring pre order

    • I purchased quite a few petunias this year and they’re all doing well, except for this one. They look terrible, but the worst thing is the smell. They smell like something died. When they get wet, it’s really bad. They are in pots at my front door and I have to pull them. It stinks up the entire area! It’s very noticeable.

    • Very disappointing did not do well at all, the flowers faded a lot in full Sun location. It doesn’t require degrading but it’s one of those that looks absolutely horrible once it’s spent so you end up deadheading anyways.

    • My first year with this beauty and I love it...except for it's foul odor. For a few weeks I kept smelling a very putrid stench around my porch. I thought maybe an animal had died under the steps or cats were peeing in nearby shrubs. Stuck my nose near the picasso hanging basket and found the culprit. Dang! I am super sad that these beauties stink so bad! I'll stick with supertunias again next year, but definitely NOT this variety.

    • I love this plant. It explodes in the planters. It grows up and trails over the planter. Mine does not have very much green around the edges; not much at all. The plant is very sticky. I will definitely buy this plant again next year.

    • These are absolutely wonderful! I live in hot & humid San Antonio, TX and these plants are holding up so well in my West facing, full sun garden bed. They have formed tidy mounds and are beautiful and bright. Very low fuss. I do not have the smell that others have described in previous reviews. Highly recommend!

    • I’m in zone 9b and found 5 of these at a big box hardware store in the fall 2020. I am so impressed by their performance. I had put 3 in a pot which are doing super well trailing over the pot. The other 2 I actually left in their tiny cans because my landscape was not ready for them yet. To my amazement all 5 overwintered and are still performing amazingly! I finally put the other 2 in the landscape and they are growing well. I haven’t noticed the smell of them like others say. Maybe once it warms up I’ll notice a smell... I hope not though because they are so beautiful!!!

    • Planted this in my flower boxes at the front of the house along with potato vines (from Proven Winners). I ordered them online and they arrived carefully packaged. They grew wonderfully and I received many compliments. Beautiful pink/green combination.

    • This is one of my favorite flowers. Grows very fast and there is no need to dead head. Becomes full and looks great with baby's breath and any of the hanging vines.
