At Last^® Rose Rosa x

I am so pleased. I put this in a 2 gallon plastic pot with homemade compost & a small bit of Roses Alive. I put it beside the dock where it gets full Florida sunshine, lots of wind & hugh humidity. It is blooming away and has stolen my heart. I love the flower form and the way each blossom changes color over several days. It also has a delicious fragrance.

I absolutely adore this rose! I planted it in May of 2024 and watched it perform flawlessly until a couple of frosts into Fall. We're now halfway into May of the following year and it's already exploding with blooms and looking marvelous--and I didn't have to do a thing. I love the dark green foliage against the coral-colored roses (which smell amazing). I normally have so much trouble growing roses but this one has been a breeze so far.

Have had very good success with our Oso Easy rose purchases (37 total Oso Easy roses) from Proven Winners in the past 3 years. Their product has always arrived in a timely fashion in well packed/designed shipping containers. The At Last rose was planted very close to a recently removed Black Walnut and is blooming nicely in its third season. All of our roses are situated in landscape fabric, cedar mulch, rich organic and well drained soil. All are treated with Bio Advance seasonal 3 in 1 granular rose care product. All watering is aimed at the base with rain setting nozzle to avoid splashing onto the leaves to avoid black spot issues. Also, We religiously spray alcohol on the prunning shears after each use to kill any potential disease transfer. We feel these efforts lends to years of awarded beauty. Note: Zone 6a, Michigan thumb region enjoying 56 total rose plants to date.

These roses are everything I want and more! I’ve had 3 of them for a number of years. Two of them were new in 3 gal pots and a third was on markdown because it was struggling some. I don’t like other shrub roses cause they have little fragrance and few petals. Other reviews for this rose have complained that the flowers flop and that’s because of that high petal count. Knock Out roses have 5 petals or just a few more if they’re doubles so they don’t flop. Cut back in the spring to fewer healthy stems and maybe they won’t flop so much either. Love that fragrance!

I'm done. 4 summers in and these are coming out. I had planned on planting these right across my front porch since the blooms are so beautiful and fragrant. I've babied them through the winter with protective covers, pruned according to what I've researched online etc. What I'm getting is a very leggy plant, stem "burning", and about 50% of leaves not looking healthy. I have them in an optimal location with "sun". Proven Winners is one of my go-to brands, but this rose did not do well for me. I've transitioned to the Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea that is so far thriving. I'll plant a row this year. Much lower maintenance compared to roses.....
