Sunstar^® Red Egyptian Star Flower Pentas lanceolata

I had great success with this variety last year and just bought another 10 for this year. Pentas are really underrated. When the rest of the garden is suffering from disease and pests in late summer these beauties are glossy and happy and carefree. Even if they're between bloom cycles the foliage is gorgeous. And yet, it seems as if many gardeners don't know about them. They are a hidden gem!

These are so beautiful and vibrant! I wanted to start keeping some plants indoors, and bought these to try figuring they could live on my patio if they didn't like being inside. They have made it through me figuring out optimal watering habits and varying sun exposure. They weren't looking as happy as I wanted on my patio (which is really only part sun at best), but I moved them inside once my grow light came in and they have begun to thrive! The colors are rich. My white grow light is set to run 12 hours a day, which was the first time length I tried, and they have grown up, had increased blooms, and color improvement. Would highly recommend. As long as you can get them plenty of light, they are excellent!
