This tiny beauty never fails to catch my eye. Changing from yellow, to gold, red and orange , I am often caught by surprise. Planted in a sheltered, full sun position with some late afternoon shade, I’ve found this plant seems very happy. I did a light trim in late winter when I first planted the tube stock sized plant and gave additional water when needed. I gave it an all purpose fertiliser and a liquid fertiliser at the same time to give it a boost. Now it is late spring and a beautiful 30cm ball of orange fire, and shiny compact leaves, has now become the new centrepiece of our Miniature Japanese Garden. (The Bridge is old news) I now have a selection of tube stock babies with different colours, and all of the same variety trying to be recognised also, but to no avail just yet…
