    Maintenance Notes:
    • For optimal performance, keep your Rock Begonia at 60-85°F (15-29°C).
    • Begonias thrive in medium to bright indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can lead to leaf scorch. Insufficient light can lead to legginess and faded leaves.
    • Begonias prefer moderate humidity. You can supplement their humidity by placing them on a pebble tray with water, or by clustering them together with other plants. Be careful of providing too much humidity or they can get white patches of mildew on their leaves.
    • Begonias prefer moist, but not soggy soil. Be sure to water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure good drainage. Do not allow your Begonia to suffer from multiple spells of dryness, or it may get brown, crispy leaves.
    • Feed your Begonia once per month at half strength when it is actively growing. Reduce frequency of fertilization in the winter months. If no new leaves are growing, it does not need to be fertilized.
    • Protect furniture when watering & fertilizing.
    • Over time, your Begonia will have older leaves fade and dry.  Prune them with shears so the plant can put its energy into growing new leaves.
    • When repotting your Begonia, use an all-purpose potting mix, with orchid bark and perlite added to ensure good drainage.
    • If your Begonia drops its leaves, don't give up! These plants grow from rhizomes and can sprout new leaves under the right conditions. They like very consistent conditions, overall, when it comes to watering, temperature, and light, and they need to have good drainage.
